darkness falls upon us all

darkness falls upon us all,
unaware, unforeseen

cold nights, white snow
drunken nights, dirty snow

"you can see your breath"

darkness falls upon us all,
cold and unwanted,
eyes, clouded over,
unseeing and unseen

consciousness slowly dissipates
into the night
and into the night
we are given,
scarred souls of ancient beatniks,
raggedy old vagabond of the night
of a thousand journeys

seconds leading up to dissipation,
and then, the moment

darkness falls upon us all

Wumbulu
scarred souls of ancient beatniks,
raggedy old vagabond of the night

Raised a smile on my 70 year old face...thanks

Yes it does, sometimes slowly and in increments, other times swift and painless. Very descriptive poem in your special style.
