Dreams do not make sense....that's all I know. What does the desert mean? Sand? Emptiness? Loneliness? Sahara? Date palms? One " s " short of a dessert?

Dreaming. The Triolet Challenge.

Can see the desert going out there so far,
and, in the heat, sometimes an umbrella
is needed to keep me from going under.
Can see the desert going out there so far.
Dreaming. I dream 'cause I'm a sandman lover.
Smiling, I slope along in mad dog weather.
Can see the desert going out there so far,
and, in the heat, sometimes an umbrella.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback people. I hope Noel Coward will forgive the borrowing of his " mad dogs " theme.

The triolet, that's a tough one. You made a whole world in five lines. It's vivid. I love the "sandman lover," and "mad dog weather."

This is great, thank you.
