i am hopelessly romantic

north country girl

on the beach

reaching for the same shell

fingers touch

eyes meet

a stone's skip from us

two dolphins splash and arc

how ironic

~~~
two days
we were allowed two days
~~~

i will always wonder

was she the one

~~~
shall i describe her
can i
blush of fall apples cheeks
blue of summer sky eyes
chocolate sundae with sprinkles smile
soft as baby's bum skin
cherry jubilee lips
bountiful harvest breasts
tropical breeze breath
too poetic
not poetic enough
it took no thought or imagination or effort
two days
two evenings
two nights
two mornings
one goodbye
maybe it is better this way
a perfect memory
There's a lot to like about this poem (which I did like). My favorite part is:
two days
two evenings
two nights
two mornings
one goodbye
Well played, Pony.
Very tender and carefully composed. Most of us, I suppose, tend to want good things to last forever. But the fact they they end doesn't make them any less intense or memorable, as your poem demonstrates beautifully.
The advantage of a short romance is just that. There is no time to dwell in the faults. Sounds heavenly! Yes, you are a romantic, but you are a poet, and I don't know one who isn't, even if they don't admit it. You made me feel the wonder of those two perfect days. Beautiful!
