The Frosts Retreat

It was Summer again, the frosts retreat complete
The Sun was like a blazing gong of smiling, laughing brass set on high
Clanging Elder Lord of endless azure blues sublime
Sighs of Love were whispering names and eyes
Looking out over fields of softly thundering violet frames

You&I

Held fast in our embrace so warm, so expressively designed and styled;

We whiled away the time that was to be within a dream of light

Like willful children lost upon a life at sea we fought and

Cast our wishes forth at last to swim or sink in thoughts of rain,

As the frosts retreat complete, it was Summer again . . .

An interesting piece, my friend :>)
I like very much indeed your description of the sun, as the 'laughing brass' brings to mind a joyful fanfare. This finds echoes, it seems to me, in the 'thundering' a few lines down. Then the formatting of the poem, single- to double lined, has the effect of slowing the pace, perfect for conjuring a wistful mood. Applause!
