SERLECTIVE MEMORY (WITH THANKS TO ARQUIOUS)

Sadly , the masses , tend to chose to be forgetful
Suffer from selective memory loss
The past a long , long time ago
They just don't get it
As if treating repeats of history like repeats on TV
And switch channels, preferring soaps
Or celebs , long forgotten, eating kangaroos balls
Those who rule or wish to be the rulers ,both sale revisionism
Rather than be bored by whats on the news
Now I'm now 62 , so no spring chicken
I have learned from the past, why have so many learned nowt?

I am despairing!

It's a sad situation, and revisionist history is just as harmful.
The truth, the history, that is what we need to remember, and hopefully learn.

You're old enough to know that people don't learn from the past. They "learn" from dogma and propaganda. As a result, the past keeps coming back.

As do I!
I'm not sure which is worse, selective history or revisionist history.
