Hallelujah

the invention of the concepts
of evil and redemption
opened the door
to every kind
of inhuman behaviour

not that violence and brutality
where anything new
but religion
made them respectable
rape on Saturday, forgiveness on Sunday

for the raped, bad Karma
it's your own fault
for the rapist
God's forgiveness
and paradise waiting

the slimy bible-black
words of the prophets
roll down the volcano's sides
burning independent thought into ash
leaving behind fear and hatred

This piece is quite caustic. Sounds like organized religion is not your bag. Don't you know that the world ended on 21 December 2012? We are in extra innings so we need to quickly become religious Mayans pinch hitters.
