I just want to keep my poems together because they tell a story. I accidentally didn't get this one in my site because of my own mistake, very kindly corrected by our administration's computer guru. Thank you admin.+++

Some Say Love ... ... ...?

Some say love is as soft as an easy chair

On which a cranked up weasel sits snapping at your neck.

Iím not so sure about that.

What I do know is that this day
Is unlike any other day

But then, all the days will eventually bleed into one day
And that day is RIGHT NOW.

And THIS day will be featured in my memory
For years to come.

I feel damaged and dimpled
by my own exploits in the field of love.

So failing at times, so thick in achievements
So tired
Of the word ďlove.Ē

The world is very frightening in 2015
Iím scared Iím running out of gas
Iím starting to bob and weave
I believe Iíve lost my course.

Soon Iíll go on with my life
And Ivan will go on with his
And one day, not too long from now,

We will pitter-patter across the floor
And we will look straight in the eyes

And we will be immobilized by the sudden
Mutual and separate realization, that we have
The love of so many friends.

They will appear,
Or sit on the floor of our individual
separate sprawling lofts

To be two deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming truck

We will shudder, as though a defensive lineman
Had thrown a cooler full of iced Gatorade on our backs.

We will laugh and remember this day ... one day.

Some say LOVE - can be a four letter word!

i need to think about this, the repercussions, the writing, the change of name, the humor, the appearance of a defensive lineman. it's all very new and a little unsettling to someone as staid as myself.
