the night

the night has always
been a thing of intrigue for me:
the world is empty of human activities
in the night
and it's like i'm the last person alive
(almost)

the night has always
been a thing of intrigue for me:
the dead silence
except the songs of the crickets
which echo a solemn loneliness in the crowd

"we're never really alone"

the night has always
been a thing of intrigue for me:
a time to be alone with solitary thoughts

The night has always held mysteries for me and I enjoyed reading this very much. Lovely wording.

"a time to be alone with solitary thoughts" . . . how frightening that is for so many. The older I get the more I welcome that time, sensing and hearing things and thoughts as darkness gathers that the glare and busyness of day seem to hide rather than reveal.
