Worth less

In a world where money equals worth

my pay-check says my time and skills are worthless

Where success is having some sort of top tier job

the silent non-answer to my job-applications
says my qualifications and results of student loans mean nothing

In a world where friends are the new family

the unanswered texts and calls end up meaning so much more

And love is the meaning

your joking criticism cuts me the deepest.

So how can I say

I am worth more?

A harrowing poem. The answer is for each of us to find and the journey is life.

You can say it. You just did. Don't let anybody get you to stop believing it. After all, look at them. How much are they worth?

Dont lose heart. Education is never a waste. There is a groove out there that fits your niche..just gotta keep making those applications.

How very well said!! An excellent poem on a subject that is affecting so many today. Our values are upside down and so are monetary rewards.
Excellent poem.
