G o i n g A w a y

We are all going
going away
We were here or there for a time
felt the flashing waves of light passing through us
splashing shadows on the sun and moon we thought we saw
ourselves in otherwise empty lives looking for time to fill
We will be going soon
Late some afternoon
Dreaming of last Summers passing sigh
The laughter of our youths purely high,
I shall miss this, I shall miss you friend of my heart, my soul
Grows weary of the current dreary syncopated lies we always hated to face
Perhaps it is but the human race turned into something other than we once knew
Everything,
Now we can't stay
We are all going
going a w a y . . .
I can't say
g o i n g .
