Broken Dreams

The wind it still seems to call your name
Or perhaps that is just what I would like to hear.
And the shadows deceive, for I do believe
Sometimes I can see you standing there,
Smiling and asking where have I been.

I壇 tell you if I knew
That and everything else that makes me whole
An incomplete disaster
In search of what I once was
And hoping that I値l never find that place.

Longing to go back just one more time
To make up for my mistakes
So I値l keep on stumbling forward
As I fall backwards once again
And keep an eye out for you my love
I値l keep searching for my friend.

On the breeze I値l hear them whisper,
Your name so very soft
And perhaps I値l borrow a broken dream
that someone else has lost

For the wind it still seems to call your name
Or perhaps that is just what I would like to hear
And the shadows deceive, for I do believe
Sometimes I can see you standing there.

This is an interesting poem, wistful and ambivalent at the same time.

The wind it still seems to call your name
Or perhaps that is just what I would like to hear.

You are

Longing to go back just one more time
To make up for my mistakes,

but

hoping that I値l never find that place.

All of us do both, I think.

often your poems are of the past, looking back and sorting out.

this is in the here and now, and it's a strong poem, to put it mildly. the desire to reach out and touch what is just out of reach is almost painful read, but so understandable, so much a part of what it means to be human, and longing, and wanting to feel again what felt so good.

Time is a peculiar thing and we lose so much of we hold dear to its mammoth void i.e past. We all have that person don't we? Only thing that is constant in our ever confusing world. Much enjoyed this wonderful write my friend!

This is one of your best. It obviously comes from deep within and its scope and understanding is breathtaking. Many of us have that longing for the past to combine with the present and make everything okay. The lines "And perhaps I値l borrow a broken dream that someone else has lost" is so sad. There is always someones name that we hear in the wind. Sometimes it blows hurtfully.

A poem straight out of the soul. It is as loving as it is grand, adorned with all the fears and longings and hopes and all that is love when it is felt real and strong and great. Beautiful this is.
