A Different Christmas

It was the night before Christmas in Torio
And there is one Christmas candle
Burning at the Shaka bar
Where the surfers and residents
Will soon gather for the tapas and the tap.

Unsure of mixing tradition
From so many different areas of the world
The Austrians,the Swiss,the French,
Australians, Canadians, Americans,Italians,
The locals, the Caribbean and South Americans,
We'll just toast to the ocean and life by the sun.

Beautiful bodies, Beautiful people,
Happy friendships, sand and sun
Children running barefoot on the sand
A toast under a full moon
Where no traditions rule
Every day, all are accepted.
The Rastafarian will be our cook.

Merry Christmas to all; Happy Holidays
and A Happy New year
May the ocean waves be high
The sun shine, and the full moon be bright tonight.

I've never done Christmas in a bathing suit. It sounds like a very nice thing to do. Jerk chicken for dinner? It beats another dry turkey.

Fantastic and thanks for building the festival mood. The poem is a catalyst for the indoor people to go out and see the beach where lot of life waiting for them. Delightful to read.
