How can she be so cute?

I am taken by the sheer size of this littlest human woman
in my arms this afternoon of snow and cold and romanticism
that is all around the city

with her, my niece, just two weeks now

building strenghts by the seconds
and I adore her

I changed you, my first time
something I will remember for ever now;

and your scent, that of a little girl
coming to the world with wondering eyes.

the worries we will have
the laughter, the fears, joys and
longing
when you are growing
here, and beyond

and ah ... those eyes

thinking: " what is next ..."

... joy

You can't beat it can you? The smallness, fragility and sheer love that goes with it, your final word says it all and there will be so much.

What is next? indeed! I like the fact that the final answer here is joy!

That is beautiful, Ivan. I love the last line that holds the secret of the future. She's one of the lucky ones born with so much love around her.

This is very nice, Ivan. It reminds me of those first years with my daughters, my sons, too.
