Lazy day, just right for lovin' away
Lazy day made for a strollin' the lane

lazy day

takin' it easy

brushin' the kitty

sketchin' and stretchin'

makin' chicken soup

and, yum, homemade noodles

listenin' to music, strummin' the six string

singin' songs, writin' poems

keepin' in touch with friends, sittin' in the sun

wishin' for nothin', wantin' for nothin'

~

is there a dark side to this

something i'm not saying, something hidden

between the lines

~

no, just takin' it easy, that's all

takin' it easy, wantin' for nothin'

Heck, when isn't there a dark side, if one only looks...

The Kinks song, Lazy Sunday Afternoon springs to my mind. I'm not going to read anything into this, just one of those "chilled" days, more of the same please.

I'm willing to believe you because I know that you could have that kind of day. The others have indicated that they can't have that kind of day. Sadly, I'm with them.

There is a dark side to everything.

I would like it to be just as you say: a lazy afternoon, but it can't be because it's you and because you said wanting for nothing twice. If you need to assure us twice that you are wanting for nothing, then there is a hidden meaning.
However, I must admit that I like the analogy with the Sesame Street song. I grew up with Sesame Street and I loved that song. It was one moment when I knew I would be happy and laughing. I used to watch it in English, in Spanish, and in French, even if it was the same episode.
Clever poem.

That interlude is so sinister. If nothing else, it is a great ploy to make us read closer, I mean, who doesn't want to find out what's between the lines? Nothing or nothing? I suppose "wantin' for nothing" could have two meanings -- you have everything you want already, or your life sucks so much that you'd rather have nothing. But that's a depressing idea. Let's stick with the Sesame Street song: "On our way, Everything's A OK, Friendly neighborhood..." and so on.

I see you OTP, sitting, whistling, slugging...tea...for some odd reason this makes the Sesame Street songs come into my head, how did it go now?...
Lazy day, takin' my cares away.
Tum te tum te tum
Wont you tell me how to get, get to Sesame street?
