2011-02-11 A bittersweet, poignant text...it rings so very true. But things must come to an end, and eventually we start to realize that they ended because other things--better things, beautiful things--are about to begin.
You're right, though--when we do what must be done for ourselves and our actions end up hurting others, and there's no way to help those others, it can be hard to look on the bright side for a while.

2009-12-02 My first thought as to what this might be about was about poker...then I thought of a souffle or some incredibly complex pastry, and a cook indignantly arguing with his creation as it stubbornly refused to hold the delicate shape he had in mind for it. I'm not sure why those are the two initial interpretations I had, but I really like this piece, partly because it can be interpreted in so many different ways.
