Winter Amulet
An amulet of night and mist hangs from her wristSpins and glows as Winter snows seem to exist
Where violets sleep under coverlet deep and still
She smiles like a dream of Summer skies her eyes
Once shone for you alone and blue could not resist
The magic spell the words that fell in cadence soft and warm
In silken tomes caressing tones on telephones
Were woven lines time intertwines to twist
You back again outside the frame where paintings splinter
Intone a name the never flame gone out inside the Winter
