Desert Lies

Within the soul of the desert sleeps an infinite sea
Where the hearts of lovesick sailors go to dream endlessly
Where towering palm trees pierce the clouds like thoughts before
Shimmering legions of mermaid mirages swimming to shore
Each take a hand that muses dream deep drowned in visions cast
Like singing nets of bright quicksilver thrown into the vast
Unknown notes of zephyr music, desert skies and stars that die
Something floats upon the surface, beneath sighs where deep dreams lie~
