A Pale Song

In a pale song of ghost light between sorrow chords of midnight
Dream Rain on concrete buildings jumble puzzle words away
Some voices calling from across an empty fence some other street
Coils against an alley wall the moments crawl like stealthy beasts
Leashed by marble hands so cold so hugely cracked and splayed
Up to the mountainous elbow windows where the morning grayed
into another chapter as if to say, 'Old friend, what's wrong?'
Of ghost light between sorrow chords like moonlight, in a pale song.
