All But Unseen

Something off on the periphery all but unseen
Furtive, flickering shadows playing dice in dark alleyways hidden buy and sell
Have a little something no need to adjust the screen
Phantom fingers playing with the rigging with that which is forbidden to tell

Fall out of bed in the morning
Step into a trance woven for effect
Look out upon a world so close
Where nothing is what you suppose
And even if it were what you suspect
Like a party to be joining

Blinking behind sewn tight eyelids paper sheets of green
Something off on the periphery all but unseen
