Like Light And Stars

In a mirror without motion
Nothing, (Something,) moves
Scrawling a faceless face upon a reverse screen
Trees are blue the sky is green as grass,
Faraway, up close is normal, strange
A figure waves and masses bend and bow
Something breaks like sudden silence lost in the cold rain
Falling, falling fall away from this thing
That is Now here:
Watching itself watching what is out there moving,
With icy scales behind the days marching thoughtless, mindless
Sound crests and ebbs without ceasing
Until genes tire of Time's Charade
And learn to die like light and stars . . .
