A Picture May
A photograph capturing the perfect momentDetailing an obscure hidden truth buried in a broken heart
Deception is an art of sorts
A picture may lie,
With shadows sleeping alone in some dark room
Awaken to a solitary sound
Beating against the window of consciousness
Like a pair of lonely wings in a lost bleak wind,
Or they could be arms feeling phantom pangs of amputation
Ghostly figures receding from each other
At long last into the predictable again
Holding only the waves crashing against
Cold beaches of slumber and sleep
Waits,
A picture
May lie . . .
