Summer vacation in California Montecito by Ann Wood part 6

The days to the end of the week passed quickly. They packed their bags and cleaned the house. They loaded the freezers with fish, meat, and frozen vegetables. The men were fishing on the lake, and whatever they caught was frozen for the winter. They shared the food from the refrigerators and left for the city on Sunday afternoon. They said goodbye and promised to hear from each other when they returned. The weather was fine, and Annabelle decided to take a walk in the woods before leaving. They gathered berries, flowers, and herbs to take with them to the city. When they left, it was past five, and it was getting dark. Annabelle was driving slowly, as the car was full of luggage and a light fog had fallen. When they returned, it was past nine. They unloaded their luggage and called the others in a conference call. They talked a little and then said good night. When they had finished talking, Annabelle took out the dinner they had brought from the lake. They had a quick dinner and then went in to take a shower before going to bed. The next day Michelle started school; Annabelle had prepared Michelle's uniform and her clothes for the first day of her new job. Excited, they both couldn't sleep that night, turning in their beds late, unable to sleep.

On Monday morning, they got up early, took a shower, and got ready. Then they went downstairs for breakfast, and Annabelle made sandwiches for lunch for both of them, put in a little juice, water, and fruit, and gave Michelle $ 10 to have money with her if she had to buy anything from the canteen. Annabelle washed the dishes, and then they left, first going through Michelle's school. They were greeted at the entrance by Mrs. Harrison, Michelle's new class teacher, they greeted her, and Annabelle wished them a good day and that Melanie would pick Michelle home from school today. Mrs. Harrison smiled at them and returned the greeting, wishing Annabelle a good day and reassuring her that all would be well and not to worry. Annabelle thanked her and left. On the way to work, she called Michelle's mother, Eleniora, to tell her that everything had gone well and that she didn't have to worry. They talked a little more, and Eleniora wished Annabelle success and that they would hear from her in the evening. After they closed, Annabelle called her mother, too, and they spoke briefly and closed. He had just finished talking to his mother and Melanie and called to wish her success and to tell her that the arrangement to pick up Michelle remained and that they would see each other tonight for dinner. They talked a little longer and then hung up. Annabelle arrived at work on time.

The editor-in-chief, Mrs. Pettersson, was greeted at the entrance and welcomed her and wished her success. They went to the reporting room, where they had a meeting with the team, and Annabelle was given her first assignment to write an article about the first day of school and Labor Day. She visited several schools and the private hospital in the city, had some interesting conversations, and wrote her article at the end of the day. Cynthia was amazed by the speed and the interesting article. At noon she ate at work, hurried to write her article in time for the evening paper of the newspaper. The first day of work went very smoothly. She met a lot of new people and liked the office. They also gave her a cup of coffee, flowers, and a kit for writing and interviewing. She also received a brand new laptop for personal use and a mobile phone. At five, she left work and went to Melanie's house to pick up Michelle.

They stayed for dinner, and Michelle wrote her homework until dinner was ready. Annabelle helped Melanie set the dinner table, and they talked. Marcus was playing hide-and-seek with the twins. Melanie invited them to sit down to dinner, and they sat in the dining room and ate, talking quietly when Melanie's phone rang. It was Bobby to say that Lizzie's contractions had begun and that they were going to the hospital in Santa Barbara, and would they be able to reunite him? Melanie told him to take everything he needed and that she and Annabelle would see him at the hospital in half an hour. Marcus and Michelle stayed with the twins to watch them, and the two women drove to the hospital in Annabelle's car. They arrived on time at the hospital. Bobby met them, and they entered the maternity ward. The midwife greeted them with a smile, and she was ready with full disclosure, the baby will be born at any moment. The doctor came and looked at Lizzie with the ultrasound and looked at them in astonishment. Do you know that your wife has twins? Bobby said no. Her doctor said it was one baby. Are you sure you see two doctors? Here are two heartbeats and two babies. Fifteen minutes later, the first baby was born, a girl 2500g, 45cm, then another fifteen minutes the second baby boy was born 2700g 48cm. The mother and twins were fine and moved to a separate room where they could rest. Everyone was shocked by the fact that in 9 months, no one found out about the second baby. Annabelle and Melanie stayed a little longer and then left but promised to pass the next day. Annabelle asked Lizzie if she could write about her exciting story about the unexpected second baby?

Lizzie smiled and said, of course, I would be happy to tell the story of my miraculous baby. We couldn't have children for so long, and now we have twins, a boy, and a girl. They said goodbye and left. Before leaving, Annabelle took a few pictures to show to the children and Marcus. When they got home, the children were asleep, and Marcus was watching a movie. Annabelle went to the guest room, lay down next to Michelle, kissed her goodnight, and hugged her. She thought about Lizzie and the babies for a long time until she finally fell asleep. The next morning they got up early and went home to take a bath and change into new clothes. They had breakfast of cornflakes with milk. Melanie had made their french fries and meatballs, fruit, juice, water, and a sandwich for lunch. As soon as they left for breakfast, Annabelle left Michelle at school. Mrs. Smith greeted them and greeted them. Michelle kissed Annabelle goodbye and entered the school. Annabelle went to the office in time to greet everyone and knocked on Cynthia's door.
May I come in wanting to discuss something with you, Cynthia?
Come in, Annabelle. How can I help you, darling?
Last night I attended the birth of twins, some friends who did not know that I was teaching twins until last night. They could not have children for many years, and it is a godsend to have twins, a boy, and a girl.
Oh, that's wonderful, we definitely have to put it in the morning issue of the newspaper. Will you be able to interview the parents and the doctor who gave birth to the babies?
Of course, by when do I have to present it?
I'll keep the number out later, but please hurry.
Thank you, Cynthia; I'm going to the hospital right away.
They said goodbye, and Annabelle went to the hospital, but on the way, she stopped to buy presents for the twins and Lizzie. He took two adorable teddy bears and a set to discharge the twins from the hospital. Lizzie and Bobby took a machine for sterilizing bottles and pacifiers and a changing table. She took flowers and two balloons from the flower shop. He arrived at the hospital and went to the maternity ward and asked which room Lizzie was in?
Hello, I'm looking for a friend of mine who gave birth to twins last night? Her name is Lizzie.
A moment to look said the receptionist. What did you say her last name was?
I don't know, but I just saw my husband come in, and I'll wait for him.
Hi Bobby, how are you? I'm just coming to interview you and the doctor.
Hi Annabelle, I'm glad to see you, let me help you.
He took the bags from her hands, and they went to Lizzie's room.
Hello darling, see who I met in the corridor and was looking for you?
Hello dear and Annabelle, how are you?
Hi Lizzie, I'm fine and how are you?
Well, thanks, a little tired, the little ones cried last night.
I bring some things for your discharge from the hospital and a machine for sterilizing bottles and pacifiers.
Oh, Annabelle, you shouldn't have spent so much, but thank you very much.
Annabelle smiled and said, "For nothing, my dear, the pleasure is entirely mine."

And then he left, wished the staff a good day, and went to the parking lot to get his car. He drove fast so he could make the final adjustments before attaching the article and photos to it. Cynthia was waiting for her in her office, with a cup of coffee for both and a piece of apple pie. Hello darling, how was the interview? How are the mother and babies? I hope they will be discharged from the hospital soon. Hello, yes, they are fine, and the doctor said that by the end of the week if there are no complications, they will be discharged to go home. They cried a lot last night, but they ate very well, said the midwife who was at night. They even gained 100 grams, which is very good for premature babies. Melanie and I agreed to take Michelle from school to go to Lizzie's hospital, and I will also go to meet them, and after the visit, we will return to Michelle and me. Oh, that's great, she's finally going to meet the twins. How long will it take you to make the corrections to the article and upload the photos? The photos have already been uploaded to the laptop, and give me 20 minutes for the article, and I'm ready. Will I bother you if I stay here and drink my coffee with you? I promise to be quiet and work on the new project? Of course, don't use the other desk; I won't use it today. Each office has one large and one small desk, the large one is for work, and the small one is for interviews, there is only one laptop and phone and a writing kit and a calendar for meetings. There are also two filing cabinets and a library for folders of materials and journalism manuals. Coffee table with coffee machine and several cups and water machine, air conditioning and comfortable chairs. Annabelle also has several flower pots, as she loves flowers very much. After 20 minutes, Annabelle was ready to give the article to print. Cynthia liked it very much and put it on the first two pages of today's issue. Young lady, will you stay with my presence for lunch? I draw for the excellent article you did for me? Of course, I would come, even though I brought lunch from home. You will eat it later, and now let's go to the restaurant down our street, you will like it very much, and our newspaper enjoys a discount as regular customers, you just show your journalist card. The manual for workers has a list of restaurants, shops, and other shops where you can shop at a discount. Also free tickets for all events in the city. Take advantage of them and buy cheaper. The city is quite expensive, and these discounts are quite good, you have a reduction in fuel for your car as well. Read carefully and make the most of your rights. Thank you, Cynthia, just get my jacket and bag, and I'm ready. She got dressed, took her bag, and locked her office, and they left. On the way out, they went through Cynthia's office to get their things and lock them up. They told the secretary that they were going to a working lunch and that they would return when they were done. She wished them a nice lunch and a nice day, and they went out. They walked slowly and talked about time and things in common. The table in the restaurant was ready for them, and they were waiting for them. It was in a separate booth where they could talk without being disturbed or heard. They ordered octopus soup for starters and ribs with salad and garnish, potatoes with cheese, and vanilla ice cream, and a piece of brownie for dessert. They drank without alcohol, so they would both drive later. They had lunch and enjoyed the delicious food and music. They talked about work and life. Annabelle told her about her past and life in America over the past few months. Cynthia admired the success of this young woman, then told her story, and that she was born in Canada near Vancouver, British Columbia. That she has two sons who live in Canada, and that she lives here alone with her dog and two cats. She also loves to cook and has worked as a chef in Canada. He also loves to travel and write poetry. She moved to America a few years ago and recorded journalism. She graduated with honors and a scholarship to work in the newspaper. a vanilla ice cream, and a piece of brownie. They moved on to the main course and ate slowly. Annabelle was impressed by the good food and music, as well as the atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff was very polite and smiling. They tapped discreetly before entering to serve or serve so as not to be interrupted. Cynthia and told me about the new project they will work on. It was about Christmas traditions, and each team had to write an article about their own traditions. There will also be a competition for the best Christmas decorations in the staff houses. Annabelle really liked the idea and the challenge to compete for the best decoration. He even made plans until they talked in their minds. They switched calls, and Cynthia paid the bill, leaving a large tip for the staff. He stopped talking to the manager and booked the restaurant for the newspaper's Christmas party and magazine on the way out. They returned to the publishing house, and Annabelle went into her office and began to develop ideas for the article and the Christmas decorations. He decided to offer to make a raffle for the Christmas party. She left at five, and Sitia was waiting for her in the parking lot. Do you want me to take you to the hospital and then go home for dinner with Michelle? Okay, but on the condition that we shop and we'll both cook. We have a deal laugh Cynthia, and I'll drive behind you. Let's go. They left and overtook the traffic before it started; after 20 minutes, they were in the hospital parking lot. They came in and introduced themselves at the reception. The woman greeted them and smiled politely. They are waiting for you, Miss Annabelle. Go straight in, but please disinfect your hands. They did as they were told and went to Lizzie's room. Melanie came out and greeted them. -I will leave because it was too late and we became a lot of people. Michelle inside and wrote her homework. Mrs. Smith said they would be taken to a museum and picnic in the park next to the museum tomorrow. Bring sandwiches and water as money to buy souvenirs. And for Friday, to bring money, they would take them on a trip to the national reserve and the zoo. Thank you, Melanie, for the help you give me every day. There is nothing nice about friends helping each other. And don't forget that on Friday we are going to the lake, Harry, and Meghan and they will come, Cynthia feel invited and you have a place for everyone. I'm leaving because the traffic has started, and I'll be home again late, and the kids and Marcus are waiting for me for dinner. Drive carefully and thank you for the invitation; I will gladly come; I just have the urge to relax a bit. Good evening and glad to meet you. They came in and greeted Lizzie and Michelle, who had just finished with their family. They stood for a while and then left. Lizzie thanked them for a visit and wished them good night. They said goodbye to her and walked to the parking lot. Drive after me, there is a supermarket nearby where we will shop, and from there we will go to dinner. I will drive well behind you. They got in their cars and left. They drove slowly because there was still traffic. They parked in the parking lot in front of the supermarket and took a shopping cart. They took chicken wings and turkey burgers with yellow cheese and hot peppers, watermelon and melon lettuce and onions, radishes, tomatoes, and cucumbers. For dessert, they decided to get an eclair cake and ice cream. Potatoes and frozen vegetables for garnish to burgers and wings. Juice for Michelle and wine for them. They paid at the cash register and headed for the parking lot. They got in their cars and headed for Cynthia's house. It turned out that they lived close to each other, in two blocks. Welcome to my humble house and settle down at home, please. They unloaded and went inside. Cynthia let the dog, and the cats go out for a walk in the yard. And he showed them the kitchen where they started cooking. Annabelle made the salads and peeled the potatoes to fry. Cynthia lit the grill and set the wings and burgers to cook. Michelle set the table and sat down to watch TV in the living room. Juice for Michelle and wine for them. They paid at the cash register and headed for the parking lot. They had dinner at nine and ate and talked about the weekend. Annabelle told her about the house by the lake and that she would like it very much. At half-past ten, they wished her good night and thanked her for the delicious dinner. She sent them to the front door and then put the animals inside, locked them, and went to bed. The two girls went home and went to bed. It was a long and tiring day. Annabelle told Michelle that they would take part in the competition for the best Christmas decorated house. And that he would take her to the Christmas party in December. She was delighted, and they called their parents before going to bed. Annabelle picked up her laptop and went to the Christmas site to order Christmas decorations for the house and yard. He ordered Christmas lights, a snowman, Santa Claus and a sleigh with reindeer, several Christmas stars in different colors, glowing snowflakes and window decorations, a Christmas wreath for the door and toys and garlands for the Christmas tree, an angel for the top of the Christmas tree and many other Christmas decorations for the whole house and for the Christmas table. She went to bed, satisfied with the work done.
