Winter Was

Winter was over
The wind filled with touches of warmth
Promising flowers and light champagne
Thought branches glowing budding intimations
What was Spring, if not the memory of some dream
We shared once when now was long ago
Picture frames bursting with the color of laughter and blood
Time to hold on, to let go
Take a walk outside
Draw another breath inside of yourself
Hold who you wish or will
For all we know,
Winter is over

this captures what is best about spring. it is inviting, and stirs memories of long ago springs ~ and the scents and emotions.

so gently written ~

Very nicely put, Chaucer. I would add (in my cynicism), "Or beginning all over again." ;)
