My Shambles, My Sweet Damage
Love-handled barkeep-gal,
crooner of Patsy, juice
and joy of April, pride
of my pie-eyed Mondays,
feather in the Old Red Hat,
round shilling, streetwise sage,
give me shelter, give me Stella,
give me satisfaction.
Your life-bright voice,
your work-weary face
mellow me, make me spirited
as the third martini.
Fish-Eye-swilling calamity,
voluptuous train-crash,
my shambles, my sweet damage,
take me to church,
roll me in the deep,
hit me with your best shot.
