Yucky Garbage
On Franklin Street one sunny day
A little girl reaches down for something shiny in the gutter
And her dad tells her
Don't pick that up That's yucky garbage
The girl looks disappointed
Maybe several years from now
She'll gather all the shiny things that folks have thrown away
And make a sculpture from the glittering debris
And call it "Yucky Garbage Sculpture #1"
And she'll become a celebrated artist
And she'll thank her dad for what he said that day
