dissociating

they still see me

the future felt impossible
the present didn't feel like reality
the past was a weight on top of me

so I didn't make any life plans,
didn't take consequences seriously,
and I dusted off picture frames constantly

I did not think I would make it this far
I feel so out of place and foreign
like a ghost on a crowded street corner

Walking through spiderwebs like they're doors
Falling because I couldn't get a grip
I find myself transparent but they all see pale skin

I retreat from time, dazing off into a world
- where I do belong and I am whole
only to snap out of it and watch my soul go cold

I agree whole heartedly with Tom,
How could they not see someone who shares there heart.
Within the poems that they write,
Sometimes it's nice being transparent,
You can observe without being observed. Regards Alan

This reader cherishes especially the concrete moments of the poem: the dusting-off of picture frames, the ghost on the crowded street corner, spiderwebs as doors. Those places where the poem is most vivid and least abstract.

Always a joy to read your work, even when you write of things other than joy.

you seem at the crossroad of many adventures and you wonder which streets you'll take
maybe going in a direction will lead you to another crossroad

in my case I felt that my future was overpassed so that I lived in the future lul

thank you
