dissociating
the present didn't feel like reality
the past was a weight on top of me
so I didn't make any life plans,
didn't take consequences seriously,
and I dusted off picture frames constantly
I did not think I would make it this far
I feel so out of place and foreign
like a ghost on a crowded street corner
Walking through spiderwebs like they're doors
Falling because I couldn't get a grip
I find myself transparent but they all see pale skin
I retreat from time, dazing off into a world
- where I do belong and I am whole
only to snap out of it and watch my soul go cold
