Seeing Lorine

When last I saw Lorine
She had faded like a ghost memory was
Standing still in-between
The words she read to me fell faintly because

Almost anyone else may have broken at a breath
Nothing spoken out loud, only sotto voce ( implied)

She said she loved me like being forests branches wet
Perhaps her rain played in my mind even after things dried

I tried to grasp the wisps and straws
Return to where has been
A portraiture her spirit draws
When last I saw Lorine
