Amid Coffeepots
Amid coffeepots and Cranmer's collects,
you appear, radiant woman of Cambridge,
from the pages of the Shir HaShirim,
the hundred thousand spirals of your hair
moonlight spooling above quizzical glasses,
your smile a thurible of praise for the Holy,
your thin frame a taper in a dark sanctuary,
your feet quite modest in sensible sneakers!
