The Autumn Of

Into the Autumn of another year
Leaves all fell making no sound
Time to die again, time to disappear
To go away, never found

The summer secrets once read in some lost book or so
It has been said, but then we said 'so long' long ago

I still recall the way your voice rose and fell in silken waves
Upon slumbrous seas, a surface mirror, depths reflecting
The world has ways to delete such things, and wishing never saves
But for a dream that lives and dies, sees without detecting

Into the passing lines of yet another years' elliptic spin
Memory intertwines, forget all virtues no regrets no sin

To go away, never found
Time to die again, time to disappear
Leaves all fell making no sound
Into the Autumn of another year

Funny how autumn is so much a picture of ending and dying away and yet we end our year in another season and begin at yet another! Sublime thoughts Chaucer!
