Paradiso XXXIII 1-21

O Virgin Mother, daughter of your Son,
more humble and exalted than all creatures,
fixed resting-place of everlasting wisdom,

you are the one in whom our human nature
is so ennobled that its very Maker
did not disdain to be made with your features.

Within your womb, love sparks and kindles so
that by its bright warmth in eternal peace
the God-flower is sown and starts to grow.

Here, among saints, you are the noonday flame
of charity. For those whom death shall claim,
you are the living fountainhead of hope.

Lady, you are so highly prized, so grand:
seekers of grace who do not fly to you
say wingless prayers that can't get off the ground.

Your generous help is not content to rescue
the ones who ask for it, but countless times
you freely give before we even ask you.

With you is holiness, a heart of mercy;
with you magnificence, with you the sum
of all that is good within humanity.
