Desolation Row Revisited~A Dylan Knock Off

Well the Mardi Gras has ended, purple violets are in bloom

While everyone pretended, fast asleep in the next room

The states are still in celebration with awards of fun attire

Busy newsrooms spouting nothing much be that as it may the moon and sun on fire,

While crickets dance in tails and hats beside their whisky stills

Cervantes and Pancha Villa are riding rubber windmills

There's no more petrol to fire their trusty tanks

As rabid packs of frothing colonels and generals

Rush to withdraw worthless papers from blank banks

Paper soldiers play with plastic rifles while carnival truth hawks turn the cranks,

All the true believers just die and say thanks;

The pristine screams of  vapid screens suggest what you must know

Spreading gossipy secrets for free, someone has to now,

Robin Hood and F. Scott Fitzgerald dancing tango on the graves

While Maid Marian gets 10% of every road that she paves

But she is the little tramp they say she doesn't need the money no

As her and Mowgli swear sacrifical cows under a neon glow,

Yes they are sworn to loyalty and secrecy forbidden to speak their peace

When a moo is as good as a guess to a blind bat the lambs will stand naked in their fleece,

Of course the secretary is too funny and she reads them cartoon notes

While all the seals press fish her way which she smokes to feed the goats,

Dinosaurs flock to Las Vegas, the species is going extinct

All around The Le Brea Tar Pits, cooks stir fossils in a sink,

The smokewhistle gears are grinding loud running 7/24

Mental factories breaking down, don't work too good no more

Imaginary creatures dressed in tails and fairy wings

Masks of Dr Moreau sutures and all that it brings

Are dancing on the table rattling silverware praising San Pedro

As pristine screams on vapid screens suggest what they must know~
