in my own city over "forced busing."
Battle lines drawn on abortion.
Anita Bryant vs gay folks. Drugs
in the slums and at Studio 54.
Bible-belters decrying the ERA.

Cold War tensions. Nuclear threats.

 

Was it that the '70s were innocent
or that, being quite young, I was?
