Another January Poem

Stood awhile last night

out back and looked

at the sparse stars

in the cold black sky.

I held my broken rosary

that glows in the dark

and said some Aves

in English, in Latin.

I watched my footing

for patches of slippery

ice. The brute caress

of winter enlivened me.

'Brute caress'. I like that. Your poem made me think that there are areas requiring attention and care in all the seasons.
