Remembering How Light

Remembering how the light became 

A kind of sacred halo

Hallowing her hair

And in the temples of her eyes

Were skies of joyful laughter ascending,

Shining through the lowering night 

As though

There was only love to know

Although 

It was miraculous to see the world ending 

With an infinite shadow 

She changed her dress for other skies

Giving all desires her disguise 

Quite clear to see, all the same 

Remembering how the light became,
