Fleeting phrases across my mind are captured and placed on this page.

An Ethereal Soul

I am a life without a face
my footsteps leave not a trace
I am but only an ethereal soul
a white feather blown across chilling snow
in this vast and empty place
I find myself alone in celestial space
floating among the lost and forgotten
See my blood on that tainted cotton
with nothing but a breath to take
I am drowning in this frigid lake
of being and not believing
suffocating and often deceiving
loneliness that haunts the life of me
I dare not reach for I cannot see
what lies beyond the grasp of my hands
whether solace may come from foreign lands
I will not know, nor will I find
the lost love that never was mine
As the darkness covers the burdened sky
I wander endlessly in a whispered sigh
gone in a breeze like a scent of a withering rose
I am but your thoughts in poetry and prose.

I think this soul will find "the lost love that never was mine". I truly believe that in the end we all do.

Thank you for a wonderful poem:)

This is such a moving poem. I can actually feel the vaccum enveloping the protagonist....the void left by lost love.

I must agree this is hauntingly beautiful and written so true to your style. It really flowed across the page. What a delicious treat before going into the hospital.

You are beautiful soul my dear,
Always alive, always there;
You have a heart of gold that feels,
You have a life sensitive that breathes,
You are a feather light that floats
on the surface of thought and prose;
You are afloat and never will drown,
Because you wear the faith's crown;
Faith in yourself and in your soul,
Faith in your heart to make it go...

(((Hugs Kathy for this masterpiece)))))

It goes in my fav.s and is *bookmarked*

Love, Zoya
