An Ethereal Soul
I am a life without a facemy footsteps leave not a trace
I am but only an ethereal soul
a white feather blown across chilling snow
in this vast and empty place
I find myself alone in celestial space
floating among the lost and forgotten
See my blood on that tainted cotton
with nothing but a breath to take
I am drowning in this frigid lake
of being and not believing
suffocating and often deceiving
loneliness that haunts the life of me
I dare not reach for I cannot see
what lies beyond the grasp of my hands
whether solace may come from foreign lands
I will not know, nor will I find
the lost love that never was mine
As the darkness covers the burdened sky
I wander endlessly in a whispered sigh
gone in a breeze like a scent of a withering rose
I am but your thoughts in poetry and prose.
