Picture by Dino...as a gift to me...inspiration for this poem for him.
this is for my special friend who brings me joy in the morning. Thank you Ade.
Sanctuary
You captured my interest from the startwith your details, and mysteries, and art.
They called out to my spirit to meet you
in a time and place with no limits,
just space.
Inside my thoughts, I wander in yours,
moving over words, and ideas, and sliding
upon the silkened phrases and expressions
you weave into a tapesty of elusive
abstraction,
leaving my mind to expand beyond the concrete
into mystical apparitions, that dance like a mist
through my soul, stirring my spirit to cry out for you.
I am but a bird with a broken wing,
landing upon the lip of your chalice,
drinking in your kindness, your affection,
your goodness,
filling myself from your generous cup.
You placed me in your hands,
designed a beautiful place of rest
where I mend and preen my new feathers.
As I sit upon my perch,
healed,
you, my dear rescuer, place the key
to my heart in the last tear I shed
and offer me my freedom.
