Dedication to my ten-year old daughter and thirteen-year old son on the eve before Christmas Day 2006
Ten years have passed since first I saw your eyes
your infant's smile, your fingers holding tight
that helpless grasp of child, the bond that ties
as I recall this eve of Christmas night.
These memories of you are my delight,
renewed each day your cherished words resound
recorded for all time with rhymes I write
for you and all the loving friends I found.
Yet, here I live apart where thoughts abound
on choices made that leave you left alone
my son my prince and you my princess crowned
my children precious more than all I own.
For nothing measures to the love within
without my son and you, Tai-Ana Lynn.
