To You and For You, Alison

And I Love Red, Too

RED plume of firebird,
a suite dance
sweet in its violence

RED Cardinal
bird of prey
holy man to pray for us

RED river
flowing sad blood spilt in vain
from sad veins to Dead Sea

Fire engine RED
most often chosen
as a kid painting Valentines

RED lights stopping
reckless progress
through Green fields

past districts RED
where life is dead
to vagrant whores

wearing RED ribbons
begging someone
to stop their way of life

RED blush to cover
where pale I tremble
hot for you, my love

RED flush on face
that burns on me
my love for you, dear heart

RED blood full streaming
full steaming through
my limbs for you

lips RED from sucking
all of you
into me
my flow'ry petals
plucked by you,
my RED, RED rose.

Red pearls on a red thread.
A rosary of love. A poem that pulsates.
