What Is Death

What is death?
Is it billowing clouds?
Angels
Family and friends who have gone on before
Greeting you into a warm light
Lands of flowers and birds
That you have only seen in your dreams
A chance to be reborn into another life
Is it darkness and pain?
Demons and evil
No paradise
No hope
Alone waiting forever
Seeing those you love die
Hoping that they will not join you.
Is it a void?
Black and empty
Without end
No one around
No music
No voices
Nothing for all eternity
It is being among the living?
Unheard
Watching the tears of those who miss us
Trying to reach across to those we love
Unable to cross the thin veil
Seeing life being lived by others
Wishing we were still there
What it death?
Eternity in a small box
No one around
A cold stone to mark our passing
The fading memories of our loved ones
Silence
Loneliness
Forever

betsy Firefly
For someone who has Jesus for a friend, death is the door to life. Real life in the spirit.
I can't begin to imagine how beautiful and exciting it will be, Rob - but I do have some idea from reading about it in God's Word.

Your poem takes in the thoughts many people think, but do not dare to express.
