Winter Hope
Winter HopeWinter winds blow
Grey clouds move in from the north
Waves of snow hide the colors of the world
People huddle quietly together trying to get warm
Small beams of sun heat the air for the merest of moments
Birds are silent
Animals scurry for cover
Gnawing on the nut they hid away when the world was warm
Children play
Eating the snowflakes before the land
Sliding on water frozen to the ground
Throwing snow at their parents
Their laughter can be heard
Covering the sound of the howling winds
The only sounds of life to be heard
Trees stand strong
Leaves long buried
At the end of a branch a single bud
Giving hope that the cold will soon end
Hope of a newly found warmth
New life
New hope
All in the single bud of one single tree
