Love is.

The Palette

Inside a beautiful heart
Lives a butterfly waiting to be set free
It has all the colors of love
And the will to give them to me

Once it has been released
My world will no longer be gray
For the colors of its wings
Will like a rainbow display

The brilliance of a world
Alive with hues never seen
They're the colors of heaven
Shimmering in shades that sheen

Emeralds, sapphires, and rubies
A miracle of colors that glow
Diamonds sparkle like fire
And pearls white as pure snow

Yellow, golds, and purples
Pinks, orange, creams
More colors emerge -- Oh the Wonder
The magnificent glimmers of dreams

As it flutters from his heart
And alights inside of mine
Heaven looks on in awe
At this palette of love Divine

Nature has its own palette to tempt us, the peacock who feathers his tail to entice - the red dress, just so daring - the chrysalis of teenage years that blossom in to adulthood. Lovely words Kathy,

This poem is so sparkling beautiful, and it reminds me of a song I love - Pete Seeger's "Oh had I a golden thread":

Oh, had I a golden Thread
And needle so fine
I've weave a magic strand
Of rainbow design
Of rainbow design.

In it I'd weave the bravery
Of women giving birth,
In it I would weave the innocence
Of children over all the earth,
Children of all earth.

Far over the waters
I'd reach my magic band
Through foreign cities,
To every single land,
To every land.

Show my brothers and sisters
My rainbow design,
Bind up this sorry world
With hand and heart and mind,
Hand and heart and mind.

Far over the waters
I'd reach my magic band
To every human being
So they would understand,
So they'd understand.
