i have to express this somewhere.

No Voice But My Own

here i am without a home
i have a place but its not my own
my family is gone and moved on
so here I am without my home

children grown with their families
here I am with only me
writing depressive poetry
no where to go, no where to be

grandchildren come and they go
leaving me alone again and so
here I am with nothing to show
except the loss of all I know

who will come and be my knight?
who will come and make things right?
who will stay and hold me tight
nothing but the cold dark night

writing this emotional rhyme
tear streaming, aching for the time
when I was his and he was mine
but now time is so unkind

the clocks ticks loud and strong
breaks the silence and i groan
for there is no voice but my own
living here without a home

Strikingly sad. No matter how much you love your children and grandchildren, when the spot in your heart that was full of love for someone no longer has that someone, where is all that love supposed to go? Its like sending out a radar signal that should hit on a plane, but doesn't, and panic sets in because just a moment before, the plane was there and now it is nowhere to be found on the radar screen. It's lost from you, gone down somewhere. Now the signal sweeps over an empty screen searching, searching, and only finds the dark. I can only pray that God will help you every day to feel some hope and some joy. And that each day you feel a little more than the day before.

Kathy,

I hate seeing you so sad.
I wish I could be there to express my sympathy in person.
I feel it would mean more in person than being sent by internet.
It is a great write as yours always are my friend.

Take care and write more.

This is a very honest write, Kathy, and not much else can I say, except we all feel for you at this time. I'm sure this emptiness won't last because of the wonderful character you have. Maybe it's time you looked at filling your social calendar in with something new and off the cuff. :) You look to me like someone who could or can dance. I know you've had ill health yourself but I bet there are loads of things you could be doing. Give something new a whirl and make a few new acquaintances' but please keep your pen flowing, dear.
