Poem from a thankful mind
In middle of the city centrum, you walk down the boardwalk,
cars passing by,
sound of sirens in the background,
the wind blowing your hair backwards,
So cold it is,
your ears are numb by the cold air,
shivers running through your every move,
looking forward to the end of this day,
or at least hoping it will end soon,
Waiting for the bus,
late for the first time,
on the worst day,
loosing all hope,
just so tired,
Coming home later that day,
read your messages on a site,
a site where you have published poems,
in hope of getting understood,
You login and see a message,
from Zoya Zaidi,
it contains words that lifts you up,
your day lights up,
you valse over to the bed,
The next morning you think,
think about the day that is to come,
not the same as before,
not the same sigh as before,
now a smile arrives,
the words Zoya Zaidi wrote to you came to mind
