LIGHTHOUSE BLUES

Sea outside my window
wreckage on the beach
as questions coming to me
with answers out of reach
I tried to turn away sometimes
and look the other way
But then the sea would call for me
it sounded like a prayer
calling out
the lighthouse blues

I know the sea to well by now
to tell you what will come
if I can feel a storm coming
you may only see the sun
And steer you ship towards hurricanes
blind to see the signs
the only warning I can give
is stuck inside my mind
And the sea is singing
the lighthouse blues

Sea outside my window
wreckage on the beach
the evidents are clear to see
but truth is out of reach
I tried to climb a mountain once
to overlook the sea
but courage left me half way up
overthrown by fear
And the sea is singing
the lighthouse blues

Sea outside my window
steadily rolling in
I wonder what the coming
of this daylight will reveal...
I once found a thousand souls
cast upon this shore
I could not tell a kings soul
from a beggars or a whore
And the sea is singing
the lighthouse blues
