Drip drip

I watch as slowly
the ice melts
a smile
a hug
a kiss

enough to be okay
to keep my disappointment at bay

Against sensible judgment
and other's advice
I will live my life

but keep a little flame for you alive
waiting

for you to live up to your promise

Why?
Because the chance that he might be real keeps me awake at night smiling
and he blew life into my tired and hopeless heart

Oh! how wary and windy and insensible are the ways of
Fresh Love

An emotional roller-coaster, huh? You describe your feelings with such talent and empathy. Keep smiling.

Regards,
John.
