Patience, dear Passion

She grabs my hand desperately
clinging to me
begging

half-heartedly

I take her hands, kneel before her and hold around her
whisper into her ears those beautiful Words she loves

Oh how she yearns to share this Love with someone
to touch upon their skin and spread her love throughout their body
to disappear into their common love for something Greater
into a Pleasure and Joy older than time

I whisper to her that she will not find it here
in half-promises and unrevealed hearts
that she must be patient
sleep

as I search and live
grow and love

I whisper
I will awaken her when it is her turn
to fall in love
once I have begun to and dare to
love
