Longing

When it's late like this
or too many words have been shared with a friend in reminiscence or wishing
of something we do not have

a bitter taste
that I know none of them are you

that I long too much to know the taste of your lips, your hand on my face
to bring joy to your eyes
share the love I carry with you every day
to slide in closer..

Their faces fade

how can I know you even exist?

The question at the end makes the poem all the more dynamic. This is powerful writing indeed. Thankyou for sharing. *applause*
