chiming bells (lines composed on the steps of a church)

chiming bells
singing to an empty world -
a beautiful song has gone unheard

guiding passions are forgotten,
and ruling desires
are filling the void
that is within

chiming bells
singing to an empty world -
a beautiful song has gone unheard

i heard a bird singing a beautiful song
which was drowned out by the passing cars -
the busy world continues on,
busy people going on with their busy lives -
another beautiful song has gone unheard

chiming bells
singing to an empty world
a beautiful song has gone unheard

Church bells can sound terribly lonely when we think we are the only one hearing them. Perhaps, at that moment, you were the only one would could have found the poetry in them.
