humanity

i keep having this reoccurring dream
that i'm flying through the air.

i hear a thousand voices screaming my name
but i can't turn around to face them - i'm too afraid.
i hear a thousand voices screaming my name
but i do not recognise what they are saying

i keep having this reoccurring dream that i can fly,
moving through the air as though i am but a spirit,
but i am manifest in a bodily form

i float through life
without a care in the world,
all is but wind in the chimes
and dust in the wind

i hear a thousand voices screaming my name aloud.
i can't feel the ground beneath my feet -
maybe it isn't there?

i hear each voice and recognise each one
through the syllabic harmony
of each word uttered by the masses
as though they were a single human
