Ink Feathers

* when shadows flock like ink feathers around my bed
somewhere the universe seems to stop, breaths of darkness
lost in all those endless waves awash in thoughts adrift
atop the crowns of restive trees, waves of sound roll through
deep blue corridors where lost doors go to drown and dream
there holding you like a vision forever sought as real as light
with eyes so full of words more than in a million books of night
swimming with lands where even angels fear to tread
I swallow midnights in my veins and through the currents sift
when shadows flock like ink feathers around my bed *

A dreamy piece from Yhe Salon. I love the constant motion akin to breathing and the fluid movement from waves to trees, from sea to leaves of books of night. The expression 'swallow midnights in my veins' is especially striking. Applause!
